Selling pipeline pigs is a major part of our business here at PSSS, and it certainly is fascinating where & how these pigs are used!
As well as pigs for conventional pipelines, we have sold pigs for use in a Pizza Manufacturer to clean their tomato sauce line (Food grade of Course!), others to clean the rainwater pipes in one of the road tunnels here in Brisbane & just recently to a new brewery to clear its waste lines (You might have seen Bob Hawke launching the new beer – well, we helped!
They even get used to clean the offal lines at a local abattoir!
We have also supplied pigs to clear the seawater inlet pipe for the seal enclosure of a major Zoo!
Now we are supplying our 1st ‘Pig Train’ to a client, so it is ever evolving & fascinating!
Pigs come in all shapes and sizes from spheres, to the traditional steel, foam or solid cast, with options of brushes, magnets, silicone tipped – you name it we can supply a pig to do the job for you.
The largest we have sold were 42” (1050mm) diameter x 1.6m long – so rather large – and the smallest is 6mm (actually called pellets & used for clearing air lines & the like)
The range of pigs we carry in stock is ever increasing as we respond to our client’s needs, and, some of the newer styles are designed to make that pipeline cleaning function just a little easier & more hassle free.
We now stock 4 different foam densities from 15Kg/M3 to 80Kg/M3, all with options of bevel, seal, cavity or pull ropes.
From Pig trains to the new ARPD brush cleaning pig & the jetting pig designed to ‘Gerni’ the walls & floor of the pipeline as it goes, even foam pigs with brushes & or gauge plates & the ever increasing range of solid cast pigs all helps to ensure the pigging industry continues to evolve.
And we remain at the forefront of it here in Australia.
