PSSS & OMS Secure Weld Inspection Contract for Jansz-Io Compression Project

PSSS & OMS Secure Weld Inspection Contract for Jansz-Io Compression Project

PSSS, in collaboration with our partner OMS, has been awarded a contract to provide onshore weld inspection services for the Jansz-Io spools project. Contracted by leading Australian EPC company CIVMEC, we will be inspecting welds on seabed tie-in spools ranging from 24” to 30” in diameter.

This marks the first project PSSS and OMS have worked on together, combining our expertise with OMS’s globally recognised weld inspection technology. Michael Lee, PSSS Major Projects Manager, said:

“At PSSS, we are committed to bringing the latest innovations to our customers, ensuring the highest quality project outcomes. Partnering with OMS on the Chevron Jansz-Io project is a fantastic opportunity to showcase industry-leading technology and marks the beginning of what we anticipate will be a long and successful collaboration.”

The Jansz-Io gas field, operated by Chevron, has been supplying gas to the Gorgon processing facilities since 2015. As the reservoir pressure declines after a decade of production, the compression project will modify the subsea gas network to ensure long-term supply. Marcus Smiles, OMS Global Manager, highlighted the importance of the project:

“The Jansz-Io spools are a vital component of the Gorgon gas project, one of the largest fields in the world. Our award-winning weld inspection system will ensure that welds meet stringent specifications and help install assets in the most efficient way. We are very pleased to be working with PSSS on our first joint contract and look forward to many more successful collaborations.”
