Sawyer Spider Clamp - Model 400 (2”-36”)
The Sawyer Spider Clamp - Model 400 is a stainless-steel internal fit-up solution engineered for fast, accurate alignment of flanges, fittings, and short pipe sections. Built for professional welders and pipefitters, the Spider Clamp delivers stable, repeatable internal alignment across a broad 2”-36” size range.
Featuring two independently operated expanding clamps connected by a precision-machined centering shaft, the Model 400 compensates for small ID variations and delivers true bore alignment, even in challenging field environments or where precise machining isn’t possible.
The lower clamp anchors the tool securely inside the first pipe, while the upper clamp expands to align and lock the mating pipe or fitting into position. Because the unit sits fully inside the joint, welders retain complete 360° external weld access, reducing repositioning and shortening setup time.
Constructed entirely from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the Spider Clamp is compatible with carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and a wide range of specialty alloys. Its lightweight but durable build ensures dependable performance whether used in workshops, fabrication yards, refinery shutdowns, or pipeline construction projects.
